Heading down the anchor line I told myself that this had the
makings of a great dive.  The water was clear and blue.  The
visibility was easily 70 ft.  The Seaquest II was tied into the
German U-boat U-352.  The U-352 made the mistake of firing a
torpedo at the USCG cutter Icarus in 1942.  The crew of the
Icarus responded and sank the aggressor U-Boat.  It came to
rest on a white sand bottom in 115 fsw.  Going down the line the
wreck was obscured by schools of small fish.  They were
blocking my view!

Eighteen people had made the 9 hour drive to Beaufort North
Carolina. We had three days planned diving the Graveyard of
the Atlantic. Bathed in clear, warm Gulf Stream water this area
offers spectacular dive sites in great conditions.   It is definitely
worth the trip down here.  We were treated to great wrecks and
a variety of sea life-  stingrays, moray eels, lots of lionfish, sand
tiger sharks, and barracuda
