Ready for the next step in your diving career? This course is a continuing education program that provides
certified divers the opportunity to use their Basic Scuba skills in a variety of scenarios and conditions. We work
toward the goal of increasing the divers’ confidence and honing their abilities.
The course consists of classroom and pool sessions, required dives at Dutch Springs in Bethlehem Pa or boat
dives off the New Jersey coast. Students will be encouraged to plan their dives, to discuss various real-world
diving scenarios, and to work together to solve the challenges presented to them.
Classroom/Pool: -Orientation, equipment and review
-Discussion of required dives (navigation, night, deep)
-Compass and salvage discussion
-Pool 1& 2 – Basic skills review/Rescue & assistance
Dives: -Required -Navigation
-Night (low visibility)
-Deep Dive (60-130 feet)
-Electives -Wreck Diving -Light Salvage
-Boat Diving -Dive Computers
Requirements: Students must have SCUBA certification by a NAUI- recognized agency, and be at least 15 years
old. Students are responsible for their own dive equipment and for its care and maintenance. At least one dive light
is required; a dive compass and reel are recommended. Ask about student discounts for these items.

Checkout dives are to be scheduled with instructor after successful completion of classroom materials. Students
are responsible for costs incurred by instructor in association with checkout dives. If you cannot come to a class
you may reschedule it for a missed class fee of $35. You must complete checkout dives within 6 months of taking a
course. Those people not passing class will be offered a reduced price second class.
